Organoclay for Polymer Modification – laboratory developments.

MONAMET 1O5 organophilic clay may be used as an additive for polymers in order to provide a set of new properties to materials based on widely known polymers, as well as to improve properties, such as: physical and mechanical properties, barrier properties, reduced combustibility, improved adhesion to metal and other surfaces, increased material stiffness and strength, resistance to radiation, etc.

MONAMET 1O5 may be applied as a functional additive in the following polymers: polyethers, polyamides (polyamide 6, PA6), polymers based on epoxy and acrylic resins, some copolymers of polyolefins and polyacrylates (EBA, EMA), copolymers of ethylene and vinyl acetate (EVA); polyolefins (PO) containing grafted polar functional groups (maleinized and oxidized) within their polymer chain: polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP).

MONAMET 1O5 may be applied as an additive to some oligomeric and low-molecular-weight substances as thickeners (rheological additives): oxidized polyethylene waxes, components of epoxy resins, solvents for paints and varnishes, bitumens and polymer-bitumen binders, etc.
